Guys, technology is amazing. At just 11.5 weeks we were able to find out we are having a little girl! Is that not insane?! Atlas will be joining us on March 4, 2017 and it just doesn’t feel real.
The last three months have been a whirlwind of emotions, hormones and sickness! First off, thank you all so much for the love, support, encouragement and advice you have graciously gifted us with since our announcement. It’s been a rough couple of months as I learn to slow down and truly listen to my body. The first thing I learned is ‘morning sickness’ is not a ‘morning’ sickness. It’s an all day, random, constant battle between not being hungry but forcing yourself to eat for the baby, and being so hungry the nausea has taken over. Not to mention the never ending pull to my bed for a ‘quick’ little cat nap.
I have had to learn how to slow down the daily grind, eat more often, and the hardest part, learn to let go of the guilt. Grey to Blue has been a constant hustle for me, so when I had to take a full week off just to stay healthy, I started to feel guilty for being lazy or weak. When really, I didn’t have a choice. This baby needed me to slow down, and instead of trying to keep up, I sent out an email keeping all my clients up to date, laid back down, and ate some more cheetos. It’s been a frustrating process trying to find who and what I need to be for this little orange taking over my life, but I couldn’t be happier <3
But there is always good news! In the last two weeks I have started to really feel like myself again! I am sooooo ready to enjoy the idea of being pregnant without puking 20 seconds later, and get back to eating my normal foods, working out, and functioning like a normal human! Not going to lie though, I am definitely still taking advantage of the naps 🙂
In light of my mood boost and being 1/3 of the way through pregnancy, I am gathering all my mama’s and their advice and putting together my Before Baby Bucket list! Stay tuned for what Tim and I are trying to knock off the list before Atlas makes her debut and other baby updates!
